Bake-a-roux
Uncle Randeaux's Bake-A-Roux
Ingredients
two to one flour to oil
1 cup of flour
1/2 cup of oil
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Put the flour and oil into a pot.
stur until the flour and oil is mixed together.
Put in the oven for 1 1/2 hours, to one hour and 45 minutes
Stur every 15 minutes (the roux will not turn brown if you do not do this)
When it is a nice rich brown take it out and let it cool.
You may use it immediately.
You will have extra. Store in a container in the refrigerator.
